There is something about black and white that evokes a person and draws in all audiences. For me black and white is almost like a magical tale, taking me back to the past and its more simplistic ideals. I enjoy reading a room and a photo for its elegance and sweet charm and black and white does all of that while also adding sass and wit into the mix. Something else that is fascinating about black and white is how it can be and do anything and still seem charming. It can overall move and sway into so many different ways while still appearing utterly captivating.

Under Water Mystery
There has always been this huge fascination with me and the sea. I love the idea that there is a whole other life that takes up most of the earth. These images are amazing to me and tell me that under water creatures can become one with us.

Space
What a great use of space!!! I love the way that the spaces are open with in miniature enclosed spaces while still creating different atmospheres and feelings within each space. So the jew to my right says “suck a big one” in which she means that the big space is covered intelligently and effortlessly in a beautiful and artistic manner. I particularly love the white space for its cleanliness. The exhibit is demonstrating fabrics and there for I love the way that you can go within the different regions and enter a new kind of texture and serenity. It’s almost like a mind game within the different spaces that are each triggering a new sense that can open a new stimulation and almost giving you a tour of the different regions where the fabric is actually produced. I enjoy that the spaces play with volume while still being able to be portable and easily removable. This space seems engaging and is quickly drawing to the eye telling you a story instantaneously about some of what you might see. I feel that it was clever that the space was placed solely in the center removing most natural light and maintaining the power of light to the designer and the different feeling that they are attempting to provoke. Overall I love the cohesiveness of the design and the movement that the spaces are taking your eye.

Yummy Yummy Lamp
This amazing lamp is a unique blend of industrial modern kitchen wear. The shade portion of the lamp is like a dish cup that one can find especially at the super bowl as sauce dishes. Its form melts in a tutu like silhouette that can also be seen on things like melted records and vibration diagrams. I personally love the way that the photographer or designer played with the size of the lamp by placing them at different heights in different locations, it makes you wonder if the lamps are really different sizes. The boxes were also a nice touch in my opinion adding enough detail that I could image the kind of space that the lamp would go into but also just enough mystery that it can really be used in numerous designs. Simplicity is also a key element for me and is crucial I think for most designs. This lamp defines simplicity by giving complex form on what looks like an “easy” design. Over this lamp is graceful and sings to me in a way. I can see industrial through its material non ornamentation. I can also see how this is modern through its cold wash of color and the photographer’s eye to detail.
Architctural Marvel
The architectural features in this home is breath taking and could compare its form and design to a modern day Frank Lloyd Wright home. The way that the floor plan is designed and broken up into the small “family” spaces is one way to compare to the infamous Frank Lloyd Wright. The spaces are broken up mainly by partition however there are a few spaces that are distinguished solely by furniture and elements in the space. The spaces to Frank Lloyd Wright each had to have their own story, meaning and identity; this home in many ways does just that. The other way to compare this design to a design of Frank Lloyd Wright is to look at the architects material choice and colors; very Modest, clean, and manly in a way. The colors are representative of the style of the mastermind, not of the family living in it. I feel that in many ways the architect was the decorator and decorated to their taste rather than the occupants. Overall however I am in love with the homes movement and union between modern and little house on the prairie. The home seems like a quick me dative escape from the city.

Military
Ok so here's the deal..... for my studio class we are now each designing an exhibit space that discusses, informs within a particular global matter.... the words are as broad as information and as controversial as military. Here are the footprints of the initial design.

House 23.2, Canada
White Rock, a coastal city 45km south of Vancouver, is probably the last place you would expect to find a house that’s as starkly futuristic as the 23.2 House, but look closer and it soon becomes clear that there is a distinct context and reverence for the countryside. This amazing home was inspired to be an old style loft. However the project immediately turned into a futuristic revolution provoking and highlighting the amazing details that this side of Canada has to offer. The ceiling is a clear focal architectural feature demonstrating a new and innovative style that day lighting can be used. The house can be completely opened on every side and the furniture has been carefully added by the home owner. All together this design gets an A in my book due to its surprising and futuristic features.
