House 23.2, Canada

White Rock, a coastal city 45km south of Vancouver, is probably the last place you would expect to find a house that’s as starkly futuristic as the 23.2 House, but look closer and it soon becomes clear that there is a distinct context and reverence for the countryside. This amazing home was inspired to be an old style loft. However the project immediately turned into a futuristic revolution provoking and highlighting the amazing details that this side of Canada has to offer. The ceiling is a clear focal architectural feature demonstrating a new and innovative style that day lighting can be used. The house can be completely opened on every side and the furniture has been carefully added by the home owner. All together this design gets an A in my book due to its surprising and futuristic features.

I agree, this space is really refreshing and futuristic. The lights make the space so playful which plays off of the harsh architectural lines in the exterior of the structure. It is an amalgamation of styles and perspectives in an unexpected place, which really resonates with me. Also the way the space absorbs and plays with light is wonderful and highlights the details within the space.
